Lynne Huneault — Professional Tote Lynne’s email address: lynhun@yahoo.com |
Lynne Huneault – Professional Tote The Professional Tote has all the pockets and compartments needed for today’s "professional" woman. There is a pleated pocket on each side of the tote to hold a bottle of water, umbrella, magazine, baby bottle or telephone. On the front is a zippered pocket to hold your ID and Passport for your airport arrival. Behind that pocket is one to hold your boarding pass. On the backside is one large pocket for a newspaper or magazine. On the inside, there is a large center dividing zippered pocket that holds file folders. There is plenty of room for a laptop computer. Several inside pockets for keys, pens, and more! To finish off, there is a zipper that will close tight to keep the bottom secure. This could be a great sewing tote with a place for patterns or books, fabrics and notions. Pattern available at Quilters Dream – email: info@quiltersdream.ca or phone: 905-689-4575. |

Pat Menary — Thread Painting Pat’s Web site: www.schoolhousecottage.com |
Pat Menary – Thread Painting Create a miniature landscape "painting" using your sewing machine. Fabric inks are used to create areas of colour that are then embellished with free motion machine embroidery techniques. Free motion embroidery or free-machine quilting experience was an asset for this workshop. Sewing machine in good working order with drop feed dog capabilities and a darning foot were required. |

Heather Stewart — Cobblestones Heather’s Web site: www.heatherstewart.ca |
Heather Stewart – Cobblestones All of Heather’s speed piecing and cutting methods, including cascade cutting are covered. These techniques can cut up to a third of the construction time on any quilt you make. While learning these techniques, students made this quilt that has over 80 layout possibilities. Almost any style of fabrics works — from batiks to homespuns; if your fabrics harmonize, so does your quilt. |

Lorraine Roy — Fabric Collage with Tulle Lorraine’s Web site: www.Lroytextileart.com |
Lorraine Roy – Fabric Collage with Tulle (Sunday, April 26, 2009) Using small fabric cuttings held down by transparent tulle and free-motion machine stitchery, we create colourful textured images limited only by our fertile imaginations. By the end of the course, participants had at least one finished surface that can be completed in various ways. This technique is much like ‘painting’ with fabric, sure to inspire the creative spirit and provide a reason to save all those scraps! Note: pictures shown are just examples of Lorraine’s work; to see more of it, please visit her Web site. |

Barb Scott — Jacket Schoolhouse Barb’s email address: barbkyis@gmail.com |
Barb Scott – Jacket Schoolhouse The Frayed Jacket is a short lined princess jacket with a notch collar if the edges are frayed; and if you choose not to fray but finish your jacket with binding then a rounded shawl collar is the best choice. The Mandarin Jacket is a semi-fitted princess jacket with a mandarin collar. Rather than putting in a separate lining, as the patterns suggest, Barb has chosen to machine quilt all the layers together and then put the jacket together and finish the edges with binding. Kits and patterns are available at Country Patchworks (a show vendor) – www.countrypatchworks.ca, or phone: 519-537-8753. See Workshop Intro on VIDEO PAGE |
